"Reopen the blocked feeder channels for water storage in Kurichi Kulam"

Praying that the blocked feeder channels that supply waters to Kurichi kulam be reopened for storing water in the vital water body, the members of DMK (South District) petitioned the Collector to facilitate this.

The feeder channels were blocked citing road laying work and this has adversely affected the prospects of farmers and the recharge of the ground waters, as the bore wells in the vicinity have dried up in the city.

"This is second instance of blocking the feeder channels, which supply waters to Kurichi kulam. It was also blocked a couple of years back when the over bridge work was in progress on its course", Said the petitioners.
